Palliative Foot/Lower Extremity Care
We encourage preventative care to avoid surgery and wound care. We monitor and evaluate patients' lower extremities, recommend treatment plans, and perform regular toenail and callus maintenance.
Lower Extremity Non-invasive Vascular Studies
Before recommending any type of surgery, we perform a non-invasive vascular study of the lower extremities.
Diabetic Foot Care
For those with diabetes, the risk of developing infections is higher. That's why we offer scheduled follow-ups for palliative foot care, to prevent any issues from arising. Additionally, we keep a close eye on the impact of diabetes on the lower extremities, including providing diabetic shoes and insoles to reduce the likelihood of abrasions and increase comfort.
Wound Care
To address the patient's wounds, we start with weekly local wound care at their bedside using the latest technology. This includes using substitute skin grafts to assist with wound closure. Depending on the severity of the damage to the lower extremities, surgical debridement and limb salvage procedures may also be necessary.
The health and happiness of your residents and patients mean the world to you, and as your partner in senior healthcare, we want that, too.
One of the most critical areas of complications for seniors is their lower extremities. Many seniors who cannot afford to see a doctor for these conditions suffer in silence, with the conditions only worsening. Comprehensive Podiatric Care, which contracts with nursing facilities, believes foot care should be available no matter your economic level. We provide wound care of the lower extremities, professional palliative foot care (nails and callouses), surgical treatments to prevent limb loss, and most importantly, preventative care to avoid surgery and wound care to the facilities we contract with. Best of all, we come to you saving your facility on transportation costs and patient's emotional “white coat” anxiety.
We also offer care for diabetics, especially those suffering from complications such as a loss of sensation in the legs and poor vascular flow. Loss of feeling in the lower extremities can easily result in falls, which can cause myriad physical problems, including wounds (arterial, venous, diabetic, or pressure injury), infections, or amputations. We take a proactive approach to identifying these conditions and beginning an immediate course of treatment.
However, some circumstances may warrant a surgical procedure, such as when patients suffer trauma such as broken bones, injuries to soft tissues (ligaments and tendons), lacerations, and deep skin injuries, and we provide surgical intervention.
Our main focus is always on the patient and their specific podiatric needs. We treat all patients whether they have insurance or not.
